I did a google search for anything that had to do with TMI because I am at work and the site is filtered because it is religous. I am a ftm and and former staff of TMI and went to school with Abner. It was completely refreshing to read your words.Thank you.

I would like to have permission to print the words to Find Your Wings in a dedication to my daughter who is graduating this year in her yearbook. It says everything we would say to her and we trust God to have a beautiful plan for her life.

Dear Beloved Brother inChrist.
Greetings In Jesus name.
I want to specially thank you for all that God has passed through you to do in my life. I am praying for you and your family and the your God ministries. Please Remember us.
I am doing His service since 5 years. My ministry is working in 100 villages with 100 independent, unpaid pastors. Our styles of work in spiritual services are organizing crusade meetings in the Idol worship communities, Pastors seminars, Children’s Ministry, Women’s Ministry. He, our SAVIOR, is doing amazing miracles in our Churches during the services.
Recently, two wonders are happened in our prayer time, first miracle is one of our brother who is about to die due to HIV was saved and stood as witness to His wonders. The second miracle is that a sister of one of our believers was cured her uterine cancer.
We all the pastors together decided to organize a big crusade meeting, in one of our very big Idol worship village and a pastors seminar for the untrained pastors to deliver correct and truth of the Good News. This will took place in between the months April to June. Me with my wife and the Pastors fellowship would like to invite you as one key note speaker of any one of the above meetings. We are making 230 persons ready to accept our LORD JESUS CHRIST as their saviour by holy baptism. We wish you to give the holy baptisms and save 230 persons from sinful life.
We trust God will give you vision to take part in our services and God will do amazing things and we are going to see His kingdom come. We cordially are inviting you for the meetings. Please remember us in your daily prayers and in your ministry. Please let we know your convenient dates to attend in the meetings so that we can fix the meetings convenient for you.
Please write to me your prayers needs. Please feel free to write to me. I would like to hear from you. Our prayers are always with you.
Hoping to hear from you
yours in His service

Sooo I definitely stayed up until 3 am reading your blog – ha. I’ve been missing TMI lately and your words really hit the spot. I do have one question though – when you lead a foot washing team – do the leaders have to bring just a carry-on’s worth of clothing as well? Or do they get a whole duffel? Cause I’ve always imagined myself bringing extra seasonings and measuring cups etc etc – anyway – thanks again for making this blog – hope to meet you at TMI someday! xoxo – jessica 😀 [ p.s. i’m on my second pan of baked oatmeal – it’s glorious! (also, I added some flour to my second attempt to make it more cake-like and it came out great – just fyi)]
3:00 in the morning? Ha! Glad you enjoyed it. I have been really missing TMI lately, too. I need to write more about one of my summers soon! On my footwashing team I kept my personal belonging to what would fit in a carryon. But I was able to take a bunch of kitchen/team stuff as well. AND I was very glad for having taken them. If you end up going on a team, feel free to ask me whatever questions you have. Kudos on your baked oatmeal! Do you eat it with the hot cinnamon milk??
September 16th, 2007 at 1:41 pm
Awesome. I’ll definitely have lots of questions — it’ll be my first time leading, so I’m assuming I’d be an assistant leader. I’m already drafting my first list of things-to-take just for fun – haha. And yes, I did add warm milk and cinnamon to my baked oatmeal, ’cause that’s how we ate it in Australia since we were sooo cold. (I was on the Fiji team and at the last minute they switched us to Australia – so I had one sweatshirt and a bunch of t-shirts in the middle of the Australian winter – ack!)
P.S. Yes! Please write more about your summers whenever you can – and I’d love to see more pictures too if you ever have time. ^_^

Also, your blog’s name reminds me a bit of Bob Loblaw’s Law Blog
haha

Hi, what a great read!
I’m with The Hummingbird Foundation, trying to reach any members of TMI that worked with Thembalethu Welfare Society from 1984 on. Please read more at http://www.hummingbirdproject.org, and please, if you are aware of any team members, have them send an email to inquiries at hummingbirdproject.org. We would like to plan a reunion if possible. We are trying to raise $50,000 to help find a replacement for James & Dorothy Sarjou, the Zulu couple that donated their farmland for a Childrens Home. Thank you.

Sorry, that last should read TMI – South Africa 8446, not 8336

It is hard to tell dates, etc.
I love your blog!
You are a bundle of joy to this widder.
You are a gifted woman and I am so glad you are still excited about TMI after all of these years!
Guess what? SO AM I!
In His love & mine,

This is such a blessing to find your site. God is so good. I googled TMI Malawi hoping to find more information on the team because that is where I feel God id leading me to go. All I have to do is send in the paperwork. I’ve read some of you previous blogs when I’d google TMI and to see that you might be leading that TMI team would be so cool!!!!! I’d love to hear back from you.
God Bless
Hannah – I’ll be e-mailing you soon. — Lou

I’ve been searching the web for anything that might help me find my old team members. Google sent me to your site. I was on the TMI South Africa 8446 team. I’ve enjoyed reading your TMI memories!
February 15th, 2008 at 7:27 pm
Vicki, I’m glad Google sent you here and that you’ve enjoyed reading my TMI memories. If you go to the TMI website at http://www.teenmissions.org there is a forum. There are many FTMs there who are looking for their teammates. You might just find someone there, or you can leave a comment on the forum that you are looking and see what happens! Good luck to you! (I didn’t go on a team in ’84, so I don’t know anyone from that year).
March 17th, 2008 at 1:33 pm
Hi, I wanted to thank you for posting our email! We have rec’d so many hits from your site and our list is now growing. We had also posted on TMI but we have been really been fortunate with your readership. If it is okay, I would like to post our forum. We are looking for anyone who worked with Thembalethu Childrens Home aka Thembalethu Welfare Societ from 1984 and after.

Hey, I just saw your site and loved it. I just came back from Zambia! I was on the TMI Zambia Foot Washing team 08! It was amazing. I remember many of the orphans at Kansoka! And yes, many of my best pictures were not set up at all.

Ahhh, I have a special place in my heart for all foot washers. I am glad that you had an amazing summer as well.

Hi,
I knew the director of teen missions, Bob Bland, when I was a boy in Ohio.
Does anyone know how to get in touch with him and how he is doing?

You have to put in many, many, many tiny efforts that nobody sees or appreciates before you achieve anything worthwhile.
