Does it seem to you like “why bother”? I’m just not thinking that strapping on a bicycle helmet would make me feel like I was making the safer choice! Sheesh, if you’re going to ride around on cliffs like this on a bike, maybe getting a little bump on the head is the least of your problems!

maybe the helmet is for warmth????!!! I’m suprised you could even look at these, Linda. I’m not afraid of heights, and I don’t even want to look!

Good answer! It doesn’t look particularly warm there. And YES, it gives me the absolute heebie jeebies to even think about being up there!!

I want to go there! Of course I’m going to walk my bike.

Amazing photos! I think if I were that high up, I would have major verdigo and probably go teetering over the edge…………helmet or no helmet!

Me too! And if I was wearing the helmet, I’d try to land on my head, just to be on the safe side! 😉

Dunno where they are taken! Don’t even know if they aren’t doctored, to be honest! If anyone DOES know, fill us all in!

…and regarding the “why wear a helmet” question…
If it were me (confession approaching), I’d bang my head on the interior wall and, while dazed, ride my bike right off the edge. Safer to have concussion-reduction gear. ^_^

Thanks for the investigatory work, Shannon (good Irish name, btw!). Great link. I’ve been to those cliffs. I’m pretty adventurous, but I’d NEVER think to take a bike down onto them! Never. But I’m with you. If I did end up on those cliffs like that, I’d be hugging the wall so tightly, I’d need a full body helmet to protect me!

Thats Steve Peat and Hans Rey, they have helmets on because that is part of a longer ride.

Wow. Seriously. I mean they look real and all, but insaaaane!!! Thanks!

the helmets are moot. riders must have already suffered some sort of head injury to be out there doing that in the first place.

Hahaha! Yeah. You’re right! 🙂
